Goddess Emergence Project

One artist's effort to bring back the Goddess. This project includes the creation of 26 oil paintings depicting various goddesses portrayed as real women in an effort to make them relatable and accessible. Empowering women AND men with the feminine divine that is within each of us. The culmination of this project will result in an oracle deck and accompanying book. This is my journey.

This is my finished Baba Yaga. I’m pleased with her. And thankful that I’m done. When my husband was writing his book, often we would live the same things as the characters did. It was strange sometimes how prophetic his novel seemed to be. When one of the characters was in a tight spot, I would make him sit down and write him out of it again, because sure enough we would end up living that energy and I was most anxious to be out of it. This is my experience when I paint. Baba Yaga strips away all the crap and gets right down to the bones of a situation. She reminds me of the need for a strong foundation. A foundation that is solid, not littered with fears and illusions. Hers is not a fun energy to live in. I have been most anxious to paint me out of it again. I have learned, I have grown and I think I’m now in need of a big hug and lots of rest. However…I’ve been told that next up is the Acheulean Goddess. I thought, really? But I don’t question those that told me. So Acheulean it is! Personally, I think She’d give great hugs… instead she followed up with what Baba taught me, and put it into action. ugh.
